About the Author
Sri Daya Mata, one of Paramahansa Yogananda's earliest and closest disciples, is the president of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India. Born Faye Wright on January 31, 1914, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Daya Mata met Paramahansa Yogananda at the age of seventeen when she attended a lecture series he was giving in her hometown. Upon hearing him speak, she inwardly thought: "This man loves God as I have always longed to love Him. He knows God. Him I shall follow." Not long afterward, she entered his ashram in Los Angeles as a nun of the Self-Realization Order. During more than two decades of day-to-day association with Sri Yogananda, Daya Mata served as his confidential secretary; and over the years he entrusted her with increasing spiritual and administrative responsibilities. From the beginning he singled her out for a special role, and he encouraged other disciples to pattern their lives after her example. As Paramahansa Yogananda's spiritual successor, Sri Daya Mata has guided his society since 1955, faithfully carrying out his wishes and ideals for the dissemination of his teachings worldwide and for the establishment of Self-Realization Fellowship temples, centers, and retreats. She has made several global speaking tours, including extended visits to India. Under her leadership, the pioneering spiritual work of Paramahansa Yogananda has flourished, both in his native land and around the world. Two anthologies of her lectures and informal talks have been published, Only Love: Living the Spiritual Life in a Changing World, and Finding the Joy Within You: Personal Counsel for God-Centered Living. Many of her talks are also available on audiocassette, videocassette, and DVD. A true mother of compassion as her name signifies, Sri Daya Mata has inspired truth-seekers of all faiths and from all walks of life.

Advice from one who LIVES it: with humility and mastery

Sri Daya Mata has left an abundance of spiritual wisdom in her major published volumes, which are mostly transcriptions of lectures and satsangas she has presented over the decades. Her twenty years of direct training under Paramahansa Yogananda have been supplemented by another fifty years of attunement with her Beloved Divine through her own samadhi meditation. Although the material in this concise volume on intuition can be found elsewhere, it is invaluable to have Daya Ma's insights and experiences about intuition collected in one place, since intuition is the cornerstone of living the best life -- and of realizing The Best which lies behind that life.
Daya Mata's insights into intuition go so much deeper than the common titles wherein someone with a few psychic gifts gives you "secret awakening tips." Here we have instead someone who has achieved *mastership*, who has lifted herself above the little ego, as one can feel from the humility with which she carries the mantle of her accomplishments. I have heard nothing but astonished praise from those who have been privileged to have a personal audience with Daya Ma, and have myself been personally and specifically blessed by her compassion and intuitive sensitivity.
My own experience, in brief: Some twenty years ago, unbeknownst to friends and family, I struggled through a most trying period of my life, finding myself isolated from my usual sources of support. During that confounding December I was immeasurably uplifted to discover in my mailbox a personal Christmas card from Daya Mata, a woman with whom I had never corresponded, the incredibly busy president of an organization of 10s of thousands of members. Never before had I receive a card from her; never since: just in my time of need.
In these priceless pages Daya Ma explains the beautiful simplicity of how yoga practice naturally awakens intuitive guidance in your life -- how it develops from the stillness developed in meditation and from spiritual receptivity developed by right attitude and practicing the presence. The principles she presents are bolstered by examples from her own life and from the lives of fortunate souls she continues to touch. They are a cornerstone both for spiritual growth and for effectiveness in everyday life.

TINY PAMPHLET SIZED BOOK PUT TOGETHER BY OTHER PEOPLE, NOT REALLY AS ADVERTISED

DISAPPOINTED in this book. It isn't really a book about the title at all. It's just a compilation of things said by the author put together by others. I was not moved by it and was very disappointed. I guess I expected something written by the author--not a compilation that does/doesn't go along with the title. It's also a really small pamphlet sized 'book' for the $ paid for it!!!
